Played the parking game and scored 8 out of 10 victory points.
Started as a Spectator of 6 person with King of Tokyo. Brutal and they got the rules a little bit wrong. It quickly went to 1x1 and resolved.
Then on to "Heat", the racing game. They got the rules wrong to start but we corrected quickly. It was a bit of confusion but fun. Interesting game (not great) and well loved by the FOMO crowd. From the name and description, you are supposed to fear the heat in your engine (of course) .... but ... the real game is of course dancing with the heat devil to push it.
I had played at GenCon so I knew to push it at the end and by pure chance, eeked out a win.
Finally, I pulled out my copy of Fabled Fruit, a Friedemann Frieze (FF) game and ... sensing a theme ... remembered the rules wrong. (Such tiny fonts.)
Not far off the mark but a little. But, as in most FF games, it was intriguing to others and they will want to play again. I read the rules more carefully in better light and I got it now. Those that might remember the game, there is a big deck of cards that you DO NOT shuffle. As you consume the cards, the deck has new rules in it.
So, as you play, the game evolves. The theory being when you are done, you leave the game in the new state. So, the next time you play, it is a slightly different game.
Another great night. Not Wiz War great but fun nonetheless.
Yours,
IronConrad
